I love this time of year. Pumpkin patches, fall festivals, dressing up... Abigail had her first field trip. I had the pleasure of going with her. We boarded a bus and went to a local pumpkin patch. As a 3yr old her favorite part was riding the bus but my favorite part was watching my little one and having her want to share this experience with me. She introduced me to her little friends and I took tons of photos. Earlier that week we went as a family to a different pumpkin patch, Carrigan Farms. It was great. As we rode on the hay ride, I day dreamed that next year we will have another member of the family along. But for now I am enjoying every moment. On another wonderful note our friends the Blackwells will be traveling to Vietnam to pick up their son. Our prayers are with them and I can't wait to meet their addition.

Sugery, photography and I600A approval

In the past few weeks, several things have happened. About a month ago Abigail got her tonsils and adnoids removed. She was such a trooper. You would have thought nothing had happened. Joe had a great photography show downtown. I was so impressed and proud. He is such a great husband, father and photographer. Check out his site: www.joeyoungphoto.com.
And the best news is we finally got our I600a approval after waiting since June!!! I was so anxious and now our paperwork is off to Korea and we are on the referral waiting list. In about 6 months we should see little Nate's face in a referral. For now I am enjoying our moments and loving life.

Introducing Ourselves

Hi! We are the Young's. I'm Julie, my husband is Joe and our daughter is 3yr old Abigail. We adopted Abigail from Guatemala in 2005. We got her referral the day she was born and she was in our arms at 4 months 1 week old. Since then we have found the greatest joy in being a family. Whether it be hiking in the mountains, enjoying my husband's photography, visiting the beach with friends or just living in the moment. We have also learned that families are there for the good and the sad. Last year we decided to adopt again, this time domestically. Unfortunately for us we had two heartbreaking failures. We put our dreams of completing our family on hold and found comfort in each other. In April we decided it was time. Those old wounds are not forgotten but hope rings true for all of us. Whether it is Abigail making us play out conversations she will some day have with a brother or us imagining us as a complete family of four. We signed up to adopt a baby boy from South Korea. We have been down this road before and know it is long but we have hope. We have had our homestudy complete since June, fingerprinted in June and now waiting for clearance to adopt from the US. So join us in the wait 4 Nate.
